Physical Environment Survey Readiness Program

7 CECs / per day (1 CEC = 1 contact hour)

Is your health care facility prepared for your next physical environment compliance survey? Are you currently in your survey window? Are you looking for help in being in continuous compliance?

ASHE’s Physical Environment Survey Readiness Program prepares attendees for their next surveys. The format of the course can be customized to address specific requirements and process of various accrediting organizations such as the Joint Commission, DNV and HFAP so that attendees get the information they need. Hospitals, ASHE-affiliated chapters, and other organizations can host this program on-site at their facilities.

Program Options

The full program is comprised of three one-day modules. Hosts can choose one, two, or all three of the following modules, in any combination. Not sure which course to start with? We have a one-day overview option too:

CE - The Care Environment Module (1 Day)

Please note: Participants will receive a copy of NFPA 99®, Health Care Facilities, 2012 edition. *If you are attending an ASHE Education Showcase, only loaner books which will need to be returned will be provided for use during the program day, these will need to be returned to ASHE, and will not be available for sale onsite. Please feel free to bring your own copy of the book if you like.

This program will help health care facility professionals prepare for The Joint Commission environment of care survey. This program covers the entire survey process, regulations including NFPA codes and CMS Conditions of Participation, and common areas of deficiencies. The program is useful for those who are new to the survey process as well as those who have been through many surveys. With so many changes in regulations and new methodologies for surveys, this program provides attendees with valuable insight.

LS - Life Safety Module (1 Day)

Please note: Participants will receive a copy of NFPA 101®, Life Safety Code®, 2012 edition. *If you are attending an ASHE Education Showcase, only loaner books which will need to be returned will be provided for use during the program day, these will need to be returned to ASHE, and will not be available for sale onsite. Please feel free to bring your own copy of the book if you like.

This program covers the entire survey process, regulations including NFPA codes and CMS Conditions of Participation, and common areas of deficiencies. The program is useful for those who are new to the survey process as well as those who have been through many surveys. With so many changes in regulations and new methodologies for surveys, this program provides attendees with valuable insight.

This program will help health care facility professionals prepare for The Joint Commission emergency management survey. This program covers the entire survey process, regulations including NFPA codes and CMS Conditions of Participation, and common areas of deficiencies. The program is useful for those who are new to the survey process as well as those who have been through many surveys. With so many changes in regulations and new methodologies for surveys, this program provides attendees with valuable insight.

Physical Environment Survey Readiness Program Overview
This special one-day version of the course gives a high-level overview of the survey process and a look into the mind of a surveyor.  It will cover some of the Life Safety, Environment of Care and Emergency preparedness hot topics.  Choose this program if you’re not sure which in-depth module to start with. Attendees will gain insight into the methodology used by survey teams and deepen their understanding of the rules and regulations and most likely citations. Information will be organized in a manner you can take back and immediately put to use.

Cancellation and Substitution Policy

Registration fees, less a $75 cancellation fee, are refundable if written notice is received five working days prior to the program. Membership payment to renew/join ASHE is not refundable nor transferable. Please email a cancellation request to ASHE at ashe@aha.org or call 312-422-3800. Registrants unable to attend may send an alternate. If the alternate is not a member, the non-member fee will be applied. Transferring is subject to availability. No on-site substitutions will be allowed. ASHE reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the program due to insufficient registration.
